Danubio Pizza |
This recipe has the same ingredients that a regular pizza has, but the shape is different and quite mysterious. It can also be considered like a focaccia, if you prefer. Each dough ball contains a filling. I made all of them with tomato sauce and mozzarella, but you can fill them with different ingredients, even a different one for each ball. Eating them will be a surprise! |

First of all prepare some ingredients:

Step 2Put your flour in the mixer (or in a bowl) and mix it with the warm water/yeast, olive oil and salt.
Keep mixing and knead with your hands to obtain a compact dough. Cover the bowl where the dough is with a cloth, and let it rest for about an hour. |
Step 3Divide your dough in 8 equal pieces, giving them a round shape.
Take a piece and press it in the center with your fingers. Spread some tomato sauce where you pressed and insert a couple of mozzarella cube. Now try to close the dough always giving it a round shape, and making sure that the filling doesn't come out. You can put more filling than this, but be careful because the piece can be hard to close. Do the same for all your dough pieces and place them in your pan. Keep them a little distant from each other. Cover the pan with a cloth and let everything rise again for a half hour, at least. Finally, spread some oil on the dough surface and bake at 200°C (400F) for 20 minutes. |
Take it out from the oven and admire your danubio pizza!
