Tea Candles + Flower Pots = Space Heater
People have been using this technique since the dawn of man but I wanted to give it a try for myself since my room in the basement has been freezing! So instead of the basic version you see all over the internet where people use bricks to hold up the pots, I decided to go a slightly different route. I think this way is much cleaner, and more except-able to the eye when it's simply on your desk like I have it.
Taking into consideration that my room is roughly 30' x 20', and my door is usually open to the rest of the basement, this thing actually does pretty damn well. When my thermostat in my room was reading 62 degrees, I was getting a reading of 80 degrees just outside the heater, and 90 degrees on top of the heater. Now if I stick the thermometer up inside the flower pots the thing sky rockets to upwards of 200 degrees (don't stick your hand up there). |
